The most precious gift we can offer others is Terra Green Gold, founder of Terra Wellness, was born in the Findhorn community, a global community in Forres, Scotland, where the focus was to imbue everyday life with a relationship to “the Sacred.” During her early years she was exposed to metaphysics, psychosynthesis, esoteric Christianity and Buddhism, and participated in the exploration of women’s shamanic mysteries. Her family includes a long line of visionaries, healers, educators and pioneers in the fields of health and consciousness. Terra has been surrounded by a community that instilled a sense of commitment to the honoring and restoring of balance within ourselves and our surroundings. Hence, her name, Terra Green. Terra was introduced to Hatha yoga at the age of 12, and over the years has been blessed to receive teachings from many wise and adept teachers. Over time she developed a unique style that blends vinyasa, yoga therapeutics, and energy cultivation techniques. Some of her most inspiring teachers have been John Friend, Erich Schiffman, Judith Lasater, Alice Rocky, Lisa Walford, Maty Ezraty, Chuck Miller, and Shiva Rea. Just as Terra’s roots stem from a place where global communities come together and share, her style of teaching has always been influenced from a merging of different cultural traditions. In 1991, Terra began studying Shamanic and somatic healing techniques. Her unique work includes her knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine pain and orthopedic evaluation concepts, Western Structural Assessment and Integrational Body Work, Acupressure, Alchemical healing techniques, Sound Healing Therapies, and Dance Movement Therapy. In 1999 Terra graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a degree in the study of World Arts and Cultures. She was recognized with the Chancellor’s award for excellence. Terra has been teaching yoga in Los Angeles and Santa Monica since 1997. Currently, she is inspired by her mentors in Integrative Body Psychotherapy from The Rosenberg-Kitaen Institute of Integrative Body Psychotherapy, where she has recently completed a 2 year professional degree. She is completing a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine at Emperor’s College and will begin to offer acupuncture and East/West Nutritional counseling as of Spring 2009. You can email Terra at: |
